Me

If there is a book on wine, viticulture, enology, or wine regions I’ve either read it, am reading it, or have it in my wish-list on the Barnes and Noble website.

Wine to me is like meth to an addict. I love it, really. I have no idea how a person from the land of beer and brats came to appreciate wine, but here I am. I want to know everything about it, from seed to stemware.

You’re never to old to learn I say. That’s because I am 41 and going to college all over again. I’m enrolled at Mount San Jacinto College for their viticulture and enology courses. I am also taking additional classes in order to transfer to CSU Fresno for Agricultural Sciences and receive a Bachelor of Science Viticulture.

I have lived in the Temecula Valley and San Diego area since 1989. I have watched the vineyards and wineries continue to grow and expand with minimal support of public promotion.  That is where I come into play. I want this region to be recognized for the wonderful wineries and people it possesses.

I am not saying that this region is another Napa, Sonoma, Lodi, Paso Robles, or any of the other 109 AVA regions within California, nor do they want to be.  It is young and growing into their own identity, which I firmly believe is world class.

I also agree to disagree. I am not planning on pleasing everyone. Opinions are as personal as fingerprints. Each person has their own, with no two alike.

I suggest the pompous, pretentious, and turgid personalities leave their ego at the door.

Bill (Wilson) forwarded me your site info. Thanks for covering the wines and wineries of the Temecula Valley! If you need help getting to any of the owners/winemakers etc., please give me a yell and I’;; see what I can do for you.
Viticulture and enology at MtSac, huh? I helped create the curriculum along with Peter Poole and Etienne Cowper (who you’ve probably had as instructors) and many others. Glad to know you Roger Lee Paige. :)

    Peggy,

Thank you so much for your support. I sincerely appreciate and look forward to it.

MtSac to start, yes. Then the great “plan” is CSU Fresno. We’ll see how it rolls out. MtSac to start because I can get rid of a whole slew of courses (pre req) that are compatable with CSU Fresno’s curriculum before I get there. I got the wine bug a while ago and want to really understand all aspects of wine, not just come drink this stuff

I’ve chose the viticulture over oenology. I’ve always been interested in agriculture, so it seems a good fit.

    Cheers Peggy
